The Simpsons' beloved character "Homer Simpson," is hitting the stage in real life as part of the cast of Second City's "A Christmas Carol: Twist Your Dickens," at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. A production that begins on Nov. 24.
Dan Castellaneta who is the voice of the long standing animated show "The Simpsons" main character "Homer Simpson," has joined what looks like a star line up for the production for this comedic piece.
According to the L.A. Times Castellaneta will be joined by "MADTv's," Frank Caeti, Joe Flaherty of SCTV and Larry Joe Campbell from ABC hit "According to Jim."
Working with these actors are also Amanda Blake Davis, Brian Stepanek and Jean Villepique. The work is redone story of Dickens work. Credited with this new revamped version are Second City writers Peter Gwinn and Bobby Mort with the pair also contributed to Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report." Directing this piece will be Second City's Mark Warzech.
Castellaneta will be playing the role as "Jacob Marley," as well as other characters. In his reptoire the comedian can boast being the voices of "Grandpa Simpson," "Barney Gumble," "Krusty the Clown" and Scotsman "Groundskepper Willie," on the "Simpsons."
Outside of his normal gig as "Homer Simpson," Castellaneta also did voice overs for characters from series such as "Darkwing Duck," "Back To The Future: The Animated Series," "Earthworm Jim, Cow and Chicken," "The Batman," "Aladdin," and "Hey Arnold."
Dan Castellaneta was a part of Second City and joined them in 1983. He had roles on "The Tracey Ullman Show" and has won numerous awards for his role as "Homer Simpson,"
