The hit NBC series Community is taking the week off for what we assume is an early spring break. However, Joel Mchale has been keeping busy on the set of The Soup. Mchale recently had a very special guest, Firefly and Castle star Nathan Fillion. Meanwhile, Joel is hosting the upcoming White House Correspondents Dinner.
Community might not be new tonight, but that doesn’t mean that Joel Mchale is taking the week off. The comedian pulls double duty as the star of the NBC sitcom and the host of the clip show, The Soup.
On Wednesday night’s episode of The Soup, Mchale was visited by a few of his friends, Tony Hale and Nathan Fillion.
McHale teased the episode with some rather strange hashtags, tweeting:
“2nite @thesoup welcomes @nathanfillion & @MrTonyHale. 10/9pm E! These hashtags will make sense after u watch #TwoTigerPenises #DogButtStuff”
Following the episode, McHale tweeted:
"By far the most intellectual piece we've done on @TheSoup: https://thesoup.tv/1dOmN6w Watch tonight & see @MrTonyHale & @NathanFillion 10/9pmE!"
If he doesn't have enough to juggle, McHale has signed on to host this year's White House Correspondents Dinner on May 3.
Shortly after Mchale’s hosting duties were announced, the funnyman got right to work, tweeting:
"My material will be equally offensive to all & over within 30 minutes - just like a Congressional work year."
Meanwhile, Joel Mchale’s NBC series, Community will feature a G.I. Joe, (or should we so G.I. Joel) themed episode. Recently, Community executive producer Chris McKenna spoke with Entertainment Weekly about next week’s new episode.
“[G.I. Joe] was something from our childhood that was very important to us and we had fond memories of it, and we thought it would be a cool way to do another animated episode. Like all Community episodes, it takes on a certain style. This one has a very specific story reason for it. I don’t want to give too much away, but our characters find themselves on a Wizard of Oz-type journey through the world of G.I. Joe. … There’s a mystery that Jeff in particular has to get to the bottom of.”
