Cinemacon 2014 is off and running this week, and there have been two big showings for Michael Bay’s upcoming big budget blockbusters. Attendees were treated to three new scenes from Transformers 4: Age of Extinction , totaling to a reported 15 new minutes of footage. Fans were also shown a brand new trailer for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. Meanwhile, it has been reported that fans will be able to see the trailer released next week with Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier.
The 80’s have invaded Cinemacon. The Michael Bay lead, Transformers 4: Age of Extinction, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot were previewed at the week-long film event.
It was reported that the previously promised darker side of Transformers 4: Age of Excitation shown through in the new footage.
Michael Bay recently spoke with Yahoo! Movies UK about the film's more serious tone:
“I wanted the first Transformers to be very suburban and less cool. This is a much more cinematic one. I focused on keeping this one slick. There won’t be any goofiness in this one. We went a bit too goofy [on the last one]...It feels like a new chapter, this movie. But it’s not a reboot. This movie lives in the history of the ‘Transformers’ movies, and this one starts three years after the last. It feels fresh.”
It was also reported that film will feature the origins of the Dinobots on a prehistoric earth, where they encountered dinosaurs.
Speaking of the origins of reptiles, the premiere of the long awaited Ninja Turtle trailer also debuted. The official trailer for the film will reportedly air next week before the upcoming Captain America 2: Winter Soldier.
