The Lunt-Fontanne Theater in Manhattan is the place that will entertain John Rando's Broadway show "A Christmas Story: The Musical." This Rando play will be in limited circulation in New York when it gets under way from Nov. 19 to Dec.30 and the production will cost patrons $49 to $159 to attend.
Rando is working off the lyrical and musical content of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and the is redoing the book of Joseph Robinette.
The cast for the musical consist of both kids and adult with Johnny Rabe playing the major star as "Ralphie." "Dan Lauria was given the role as "Jean Shepherd," John Bolton will play "The Old Man," while Erin Daily plays as the "Mother."Other actors include Zac Ballard as "Randy," Caroline O' Conner "Miss Shileds," while Joe West is a stand-in "Ralphie."
The cast is made up with a number of characters entitled "Ensemble" and will aid in the moving along of the story these include the likes of Tia Altinay, John Babbo, Charissa Bertels, also a back up "Miss Shields," Grace Capeless and Zoe Considine.
Rest of the performing crew include; Nick Gaswirth, Eddie Korbich, Mark Ledbetter, Jose Luaces, Jack Mastrianni, Mara Newberry, Lindsey O'Neil, Sarah Min-Kyung Park, J.D Rodriguez, Analise Scarpaci, Lara Seibert, Jeremy Shinder, Luke Spring, Beatrice Tulchin and Kirsten Wyatt,
The production crew is made of Rando himself who is the director, Warren Carlyle the chief choreographer and James Gray the associate choreographer. Ian Eisendrath will be in charge of musical direction, Larry Blank does orchestrations and Glen Kelly deals with the dance arrangements.
Set in 1940 the play centers around "Ralphie,"a boy who wants a Red Ryder BB gun and a whole host of other items including a pink bunny.The only thing stopping him is a department store Santa, a lamp and a triple-dog-dare to lick an ice cold flagpole.
The opening night for the musical starts Nov. 19 at 6 p.m.
