Apple has announced that Tuesday, Oct. 23 is when they will be showcasing the iPad Mini to the public with San Jose, California the venue and has also confirmed that the new version of the iPad will be set at a starting price of $329 in the United States.
According to slashgear.com the internal storage sizes for the new Apple hardware are 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB with the item coming in two different color combinations that of white and black and will be equipped with wi-fi, 3G and 4G LTE. The device is also said to have a 9.7-inch Retina display.
Apple will enter the market with competition from the likes of Kindle Paperwhite a device that is cheaper and that has well publicized shortcomings, the Kindle Fire which is also cheaper and along with the Google Nexus 7.
In a move to get a one up on their cheaper rivals on the market, Apple according to Apple Insider is looking to showcase the new iPad Mini at the Tuesday event in a way to that will appeal to class room studies.
The iPad 2 that is listed at $399 is said to be too steep for many schools so Apple is hoping that the lowered entry price of the smaller iPad will entice more educational facilities.
Apple in the past week according to Apple Insider has revealed a revamp iBooks. The current installment of iBooks is available on the iOS App Store at the 2.2 version. Earlier in January Apple showed how iBooks was geared toward education and how it boasted interactive textbooks.
