Warning Spoiler Alert. NBC’s hit series The Blacklist is all new tonight. A few weeks ago we learned that James Spader’s character, Red Redington, was right about Agent Keen’s husband. Now it looks like Tom’s big killer secret will be exposed.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of The Blacklist, titled “Ivan,” reads:
“A high-tech cyber defense asset is stolen, with clues pointing to a Russian terrorist as the guilty party. Meanwhile, Jolene's vanishing sheds light on mysteries involving Tom.”
Last year Tom, himself, Ryan Eggold, spoke with E! Online about what is in store for the character:
"The plan is always evolving, but there are some sort of master plans at work. They always wanted to go down this type of road with Tom and exactly how it takes shape is still forming. There have been moments where I've known a lot and moments where I've been in the dark, but I remember when I read the episode, I called Jon [Bokenkamp] and was like, ‘Dude, this is going to be awesome.'"
Last week we saw a shade of Tom’s true self, when he killed Jolene. Eggold also opened up about filming a different, less graphic version of the fight scene:
"Can I tell you it was more brutal in that there were things that were cut out," he says. "Not a whole lot, not like another sequence, but one or two moments, one in particular that was particularly violent that was toned down a bit."
He also went on to tease tonight’s new episode, adding:
"Liz is extraordinarily hot on [his] trail and at this point, both these characters keep inching closer to each other, who they truly are, and it's reaching the breaking point."
The Blacklist airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. on NBC.
