There are just two episodes left of the hit CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. The series will end its eighth year run with the special hour-long season finale next week. The entire season has been building up to next week’s wedding between Neil Patrick Harris’ character Barney and Robin, played by Avengers actress Cobie Smulders. Check the preview below to see what is in store for the couple before the big day.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s new episode, titled “The End of the Aisle,” reads:
“Half an hour before their nuptials, Barney and Robin both suffer panic attacks, while Marshall and Lily take the occasion to rewrite their original wedding vows.”
The cast of the hit series were recent guests on Inside the Actors Studio. The show’s star Josh Radnor, A.K.A.Ted Mosby, opened up about being kept in the dark:
“There’s great fun in not getting too far ahead. I have to play Ted naively and in the present, so I didn’t want to jump too far into the narrator’s head.”
This entire season has been leading up to the wedding between the womanizing Barney, played by Neil Patrick Harris and Robin, played by Cobie Smulders.
Smulders also spoke up about finally taming Barney:
“I’m surprised and very excited that we’ve ended up here, and getting married.Barney is so flirtatious as a character that it was sort of inevitable that we were going to at least sleep together.”
The brand new episode of How I Met Your Mother airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. on CBS. The hour-long series finale airs next week. The Inside the Actors Studio episode featuring the cast airs this Thursday on Bravo.
