Tonight, ABC’s Once Upon A Time is all new. Check out the preview for the episode below, but be warned, SPOILERS for the new season follow. Last week fans got a pretty twisted revelation about the linage of the Wicked Witch of the West. The Little Mermaid is also expected to make her return this season. Meanwhile, the live action Little Mermaid movie may have found a director.
Last week we learned that the Wicked of the West, Zelena, and the Evil Queen, Regina were sisters. We are bound to learn more about that week’s new episode, “ The Tower.” The official plot synopsis for tonight’s new chapter reads:
“The hunt for the Wicked Witch continues. Meanwhile, Zelena has an ominous plan for David; and back in fairy-tale land, Prince Charming encounters Rapunzel and assists her in facing her fears”
Recently the Queen herself, Lana Parrilla, spoke to TV Guide about last week’s revelation:
"I thought it was wild and unbelievable and there has to be some kind of twist behind this because it doesn't quite make sense. The first time I read it, I was like, 'This can't be! I'm an only child!...As we move forward, other things are discovered, and we learn that she actually is her half-sister. It's quite jarring for Regina. She feels completely betrayed yet again by her mother. She's not too happy about it."
Meanwhile, the show is reportedly planning to bring back, the Little Mermaid, Ariel, later this season, as TVLine's Ask Ausiello, reports:
“Without divulging the exact storyline, Colin O’Donoghue says that JoAnna Garcia Swisher’s encore as the Little Mermaid means ‘You’ll get to see Hook and Ariel interact a bit, which I think will be fun. They have a ‘tricky’ sort of relationship, and I think people will like it.’”
That is not the only live action version Ariel you can expect to see in the near future. It has been reported that Sophia Coppelia, is in talks to direct Universal’s upcoming adaptation of the classic, Hans Christian Anderson story.
