The second to the last episode of Season 4 of The Walking Dead airs tonight on AMC. Check the report below for a special preview of the new episode. Meanwhile, the show's creator Robert Kirkman has teased some killer spoilers for the season finale. Sounds like someone is going to die.
The official plot preview for tonight’s new episode, titled “Us,” reads:
“Faith becomes a survival tool for some fighting to stay alive.”
Man of Steel writer David S. Goyer was originally scheduled to direct the new episode but had to back out due to scheduling. The Walking Dead’s executive producer Greg Nicotero stepped in to direct.
Meanwhile, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman is opening up about next week's season finale. Kirkman took part in a Reddit AMA sessions, where he teased the season bloody finale, writing:
"Savage. Honestly … people are going to be talking about this one. The cliffhanger at the end of Season 4 will make the wait between Seasons 4 and 5 the hardest wait we've ever had. ENJOY!"
Kirkman went on to add that even the most popular of characters could die at anytime:
"In my opinion, I feel like characters ripen like fruit. So while I wouldn't say the more popular a character is the more likely they are to die, they do have to reach a certain level of popularity before they've 'earned' the death. No character is too popular to die. (Suck it, Reedus!)"
However, he went on to add that the one character who is safe, is Rick:
"ABSOLUTELY NOT. Although when I look in Andrew Lincoln's piercing blue eyes, I feel safe."
The Walking Dead airs tonight at 9:00 p.m. on AMC.
