‘X-Men’s’ Peter Dinklage, Tyrion Lannister Death and ‘Game of Thrones’ Movie Rumors [SPOILERS]

Don’t be fooled by the weather forecast. It might look like spring, but winter is still coming. Season 4 of the smash hit HBO series Game of Thrones is just around the corner. With new episodes just a couple of weeks away, fans are buzzing about what is in store for the show. X-Men: Days of Future Past actor Peter Dinklage has recently opened up about his GOT character Tyrion Lannister’s “unhappy ending,” leaving many fans to wonder if the half-man might see his death. Meanwhile, the writer of the books, George R.R. Martin, has also been teasing a possible Game of Thrones movie.

Following a recent screening of the season four premiere of Game of Thrones, series creator George R. R. Martin teased a possible GOT movie, telling reporters:

“It all depends on how long the main series runs. Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger (in scope). It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know?”

However, even if they do make a movie, it is still unknown what cast members will survive long enough to make it to the big screen. Recently, Peter Dinklage teased an unhappy ending for his character, Tyrion Lannister, when he spoke to Access Hollywood, about what the season has in store:

“He’s trying to still juggle what he should be doing and what he wants to be doing, and if anybody out there has read the books… that sort of scenario doesn’t work out for anyone--whether it be Westeros or New York City or wherever...So that doesn’t look like that’s gonna have a happy ending, does it?”

Warning Spoilers Follow.

Some fans have taken Dinklage’s comments to mean that he might die, however, It should be worth noting that in the books, Tyrion is alive and well. It is also worth noting that the show tends to not stray too far away from the source material.

Game of Thrones season 4 premieres Sunday April 6 on HBO.
