Apple's Mack Book Pro 13-inch is rumored to have a $1699 price tag when it is released according to the Los Angeles Times.
With the successful launch of the iPhone 5 and the soon to be released iPad Mini and iTouch , the MacBook Pro 13-inch will be the next laptop off of the Apple assembly line.
Patrons who will look to purchase the MackBook Pro with Retina display will have according to reports could have 2,560 by 1,600 pixels in contrast to the 15-inch version that sports a 2880x1800 resolution and garnishes a $2,199 price tag.
The new MacBook Pro may not be in direct competition with Samsung's new Chromebook that was announced Oct. 18 by Google.
An item Google has labeled as "the best computer that's ever been designed" and will just cost $249 but despite the Chromebook's shortcomings the price of the Apple product could sway potential buyers to their side enticing those who are looking for a cheaper option.
The new Samsung device has an 11.6-inch screen and is approximately 2.5 pounds heavy which is lighter than Apple's MacBook Air.
It utilizes many of the web browser's features such as Google Drive, Gmail and Chrome Docs and will look to put pressure on pricey computers on the market.
According to the Los Angeles Times the report says that the 13-inch Mac Book will have a similar launch to the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina which was announced earlier this year.
Also in the works for Apple are the Mac Mini computer and the iMac desktop.
