What does NBC’s supernatural cop show Grimm and FX’s anthology thriller American Horror Story have in common? Both shows have been renewed for a fourth season and both series are heading to the carnival. In tonight’s all new episode of Grimm, the gang takes trip to trip to the big tent to check out the freak show. Meanwhile, American Horror Story’s new theme has them bidding for the title of the “greatest show on earth.”
NBC’s monstrous thriller, Grimm is all new tonight. The plot synopsis for tonight's episode, titled “The Show Must Go On,” reads:
“Monroe and Rosalee go undercover at a traveling carnival that's linked to a double homicide. Meanwhile, Monroe asks Nick an important question pertaining to his upcoming nuptials; and a member of the Resistance goes all in to help Adalind.”
Speaking of the show going on, NBC recently announced that Grimm is getting renewed for fourth season. Other NBC’s confirmed for return are, Chicago P.D, Chicago Fire, Parks and Rec, and of course The Blacklist.
FX’s American Horror Story is still going strong, with the theme for the new season confirmed. During a recent Nerdist Podcast panel, AHS, producer and writer, Douglas Petrie, confirmed that the anthology series new theme will in fact be based on the carnival, stating:
"It doesn't have a title, but ... that's the idea. Very roughly, that's the idea."
AHS creator, Ryan Murphy, has already spoiled the new season time period, telling Entertainment Weekly:
"It's set in 1950. If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there’s some more clues in that year. It’s a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we've done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent, so I’m very excited!"
The new episode of Grimm airs tonight at 9:00 p.m. on NBC.
