Mark Wahlberg is a busy man between producing hit movies and television like Entourage and starring in eleventy billion different movies over the last twenty odd years. It is for that reason that he is being honored with the Generation Award at this year's 2014 MTV Movie Awards. Amanda Seyfried is joining the cast of Seth MacFarlane's Ted 2, but unfortunately isn't being awarded anything this year by anyone.
Mark Wahlberg sure has come a long way since his work with the Funky Bunch, and this year the entertainment world is forced to take note.
While he is still technically laughed at behind his back by the whole of the entertainment world, irony is in this year, and thus so is Mark Wahlberg.
Stephen Friedman, president of MTV, really took the joke to a whole new level when he sarcastically roasted Mark in an official statement (via CBS):
"Mark Wahlberg is the definition of a modern day Renaissance Man: from Dirk Diggler to The Departed, The Basketball Diaries to Ted, Entourage to The Fighter, in front of the camera and behind--he's done it all and he's always memorable.
"Mark has captivated the MTV audience for over 20 years, and for this rare feat, we're proud to recognize him with this year's Generation Award."
Can you believe that Philistine didn't mention The Big Hit?
Amanda Seyfried is all set to star with Wahlberg on the Ted sequel, after having just finished MacFarlane's latest flick A Million Ways to Die in the West, a comedic western scheduled to hit theaters on May 30.
According to NY Dailey News, Mila Kunis isn't exactly out, but Amanda is 100 percent all the way in to play the movie's new lead:
"The writer-director[Seth MacFarlane] cast the 28-year-old actress in Ted 2, the sequel to the 2012 comedy hit that ended up earning $549 million worldwide at the box office.
"Mila Kunis also reprises her role in the sequel, it will be with much less screen time than the first.
"That is being attributed to a "creative decision" in the script written by MacFarlane, since he remains close with Kunis from their work together on "Family Guy."
Any time you can pick up an Amanda Seyfried without losing a Mila Kunis you do it. You don't have to be Alfred Hitchcock to know that's directing 101.
