There are only two episodes of Psych left. The series finale airs next week, and the show is not planning to go out with a whimper, but with a boom...stick. Evil Dead and Burn Notice star Bruce Campbell is guest starring on tonight's all new horror movie-themed spoof. In the episode, co-written and directed by James Roday, Gus undergoes dream therapy and see’s zombies everywhere, guaranteeing terrifyingly terrific hilarity.
In tonight’s all new episode of Psych, James Roday steps behind the camera, as co-writer and director. The official plot synopsis for tonight’s episode, titled “Nightmare on State Street,” reads:
“Shawn has a nightmarish experience at a dream-therapy clinic.”
When it comes to undead nightmares, there is only one man to call….Bruce Campbell. And so James Roday called on the Evil Dead star to help him slay his demons, in tonight’s episode. Bruce Campbell recently spoke to TV Guide about the new episode:
"James is a huge, geeky fanboy at his core. He's been an Evil Dead fan since he was probably 9. So it's no surprise that he said, 'I want Ash in my last episode,' because it's about zombies and stuff like that."
However, do not expect Campbell to be running around with a chainsaw and a boomstick. The actor went on to add details about his new role:
He's the seventh most successful dream therapist of 1994 or something like that. He has very bad credentials so he helps him in a way that he can by his own bologna. If I ever play another cop or lawyer, it will be too soon. It's always fun to play idiots and weirdos. And Psych is the like the land of idiots and weirdos."
Check out the new episode tonight at 9:00 p.m. on USA.
