The new Samsung Chromebook was announced today at a price of $249 and will look to do battle with the likes of Apple's new soon to be released Macbook Pro 13-inch and already released MacBook Air.
Google says the laptop is "the best computer that's ever been designed." An opinion that is highly bias seeing that the device is browser-based and the search engine had a hand in its making.
The Samsung Chromebook utilizes Google features such as Chrome Docs, Google Drive and Gmail according to cnet.com.
In terms of what the machine looks like and specs, the Chromebook looks very similar to Apple's laptop line sporting the same color and metallic finish as the brand.
The Samsung device has an 11.6-inch screen and is approximately 2.5 pounds heavy making it lighter than Apple's current version of the Macbook Air. The Samsung Chromebook uses Samsung's Exynos 5 Dual processor based on the ARM Cortex A15 design according to CNET.com.
The speakers are placed at the bottom of the hardware and the on the left side of the SD Card slot one can find the two in one microphone-headjack. The Chromebook in an effort to match the Mackbook line Samsung has gone for a similar trackpad that Apple uses.
The ports for the device are located to the rear of the machine it has a USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.0 port and a HDMI 1.4 port all attached and the unit carries with it a 16 GB webcam.
