The new total for this Tuesday’s Mega Millions lottery drawing has reached a whopping $400 million with a cash value who cares its a ****ton of money.
The official Mega Millions website reports on the massive drawing:
“The Mega Millions jackpot continues to roll and will be an estimated $400 million for Tuesday, March 18 ($224 million cash option). At that level, it would be the third highest jackpot in the game’s history, behind only the record $656 million prize on March 30, 2012, and the $648 million won last December 17. The numbers drawn on March 14 were 7, 20, 40, 54 and 69, with a Mega Ball of 12.
In the March 14 Mega Millions drawing, there were five Match 5 winning tickets – three of which included the optional Megaplier for an extra $1. With a 3x Megaplier drawn, tickets sold in Arkansas, Florida and Virginia are worth $3 million each. The remaining two Match 5 winners were both sold in Ohio and are worth $1 million each.
That brings to an even 100 the number of Match 5 winners since Mega Millions was relaunched last October. Seven of those included the optional Megaplier--there have been two $5 million winners, one $4 million winner and four $3 million winners.“
The site goes on to explain the game:
“Players may pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers - five different numbers from 1 to 75 and one number from 1 to 15 - or select Easy Pick. You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing.
The jackpots start at $15 million and grow by a minimum of $5 million per draw each time the jackpot rolls.”
