Celebrity Scientology Update: Tom and Connor Cruise, Leah Remini New Show, Kirstie Alley Weight

It's time for another Scientology update. This week Tom Cruise, who is unarguably the world's most famous Scientologist, saw his son Connor defend himself against reports that he and his mother are estranged. Leah Remini announced that she was getting a new show, and Kirstie Alley continues to struggle with her weight.

Connor was busy promoting his newest career as celebrity DJ, when he was asked about his relationship with Nicole Kidman, his mother. There have been numerous reports that the two are on shaky ground. But, according to Connor, this couldn't have been further from the truth, as Daily Mail reports:

"The 19-year-old, who was in Australia recently to DJ at the Good Life festivals, told Woman's Day, 'I love my mum'. 'I don't care what people say. I know that me and mum are solid. I love her a lot. My family means everything,' he said."

Leah Remini may no longer be a Scientologist, but ever since her high-profile split with the Church of Scientology, she has dominated the headlines.

The latest news centers around her new reality TV show. In a recent interview, Remini opened up about why her family should have its own show, as ABC News reports:

"Remini, who, along with her family, left the Church of Scientology last summer, added that her family is 'going through a transition' and 'are leaning on each other.'"

"'I hope people see growth from us, and I hope it inspires them to be who they are to each other and strengthen their relationships,' she said. 'I don't want to do a show that's negative, that's filled with drama.'"

Also in the news is Kirstie Alley. According to multiple reports, the actress has put on even more weight in recent weeks. One source told National Enquirer that Kirstie has gained more than 35 pounds since getting her new show.
