‘Castle’ and ‘Dr. Horrible’ Nathan Fillion Talks ‘Walking Dead’ After ‘Firefly’ Reboot Rumors

Nathan Fillion might not be the biggest star in Hollywood, but his fanbase is devoted and loyal. From his brief stint on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, to his web musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, the Castle star is a beloved TV and cult icon. Now Fillion is opening up about some of his favorite shows, including what else...The Walking Dead. Meanwhile, fans might someday see Fillion return to the good ship Serenity. Recently a former producer spoke about wanting to relaunch the short lived and much loved Fox series, Firefly, sparking reboot rumors once again.

The talented and charming Nathan Fillion commands a cult following. The actor is without a doubt a geek and pop culture icon. So it shouldn’t surprise fans to find out that the charmer is a bit of a geek himself. Fillion recently opened up about some of his favorite shows, as The Guardian reports:

Game Of Thrones and The Walking Dead. First of all, I love the political intrigue [in Game Of Thrones]. You really have to pay attention. You can't leave the room and fold some laundry and come back in. You have to sit, you have to pay attention, because there's so much going on. And I appreciate that kind of storytelling. Also, I cannot get over the production values.”

Meanwhile, former Firefly writer and producer, Tim Minear drop the names of a few shows himself, when he spoke to Entertainment Weekly about possibly bringing the show back to life:

“I’m completely talking off the top of my head, but there’s a show that’s been on for the last couple years that’s reinvented the form in terms of the limited series. I’m trying to think of the name of that show--Oh yes! American Horror Story! It doesn’t have to be 13 episodes. Look how Sherlock does it...I think a limited series of some kind would work best. Something like that could also work if, say, 20th could partner with Netflix, or another distributor. It would have its home on Fox, of course [then a second window on streaming]. A limited series would do very well, I bet.”
