‘Supernatural's’ Jared Padalecki Kills ‘Voice’s’ Blake Shelton in Online Competition Before Tribes Spin-Off

There are a few very good reasons that Supernatural has lasted as long on the air as it has. One of those reasons is Jared Padalecki. Padalecki alongside his co-star, Jensen Ackles have been winning over fans for the last nine seasons. Now Padalecki’s fans are showing their love for the actor by helping him to stop The Voice’s Blake Shelton in a new online competition. Meanwhile, the massive fan support the show has earned Padalecki and Ackles at least one more season on the air, as well as new upcoming spin-off, Supernatural: Tribes.

Zap2it recently placed Jared Padalecki up against The Voice coach, and country music star, Blake Shelton in the second round of their Social Media Showdown. The polls are currently closed but the website has Padalecki in the lead with a whopping 97.12% of the vote. Totaling out to 33,850 votes, up against Shelton’s 1,004 votes.

With such amazing fanfare it is no wonder that Supernatural has been picked up for a tenth season. The CW president,Mark Pedowitz, announced that the show has been renewed, as well as severl other popular CW series:

"This season we've had great success with our new hit series The Originals paired with Supernatural, giving us our best Tuesday nights in years. The Vampire Diaries is number two in its time period in the young adult demos, and with Arrow continuing to gain among young men, and Reign growing its time period, we now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I'm very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series, and let our fans know they'll have more great drama to look forward to next season."

Meanwhile, the show is planning a spin-off, Supernatural: Tribes. Casting on the new series has already begun.
