‘Ultimate Spider-Man’s’ Drake Bell Talks New Album After ‘Bitchcraft' Single and Bankruptcy Reports

Last month it was revealed that Drake Bell, the former star of Drake and Josh and voice of Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man, was broke. The reportedly bankrupt star may have fallen on hard times, but the actor/ singer might just have a way back to the top when his new album drops. Bell is now opening up about his upcoming record Ready Steady, Go, featuring the rockabilly single, “Bitchcraft.”

Drake Bell is changing up his style on his third studio album, Ready Steady, Go, which will be released on April 22 of this year. Bell recently spoke to Billboard about some his influences, stating:

"When I was growing up, for some reason I was so attracted to the vintage style -- I was so fascinated with the eras that I wasn't able to experience."

Bell went on to add that his new record will capture some of the sounds of yesteryear, calling it”

"A modern throwback record--like an Amy Winehouse or a Bruno Mars [album], but even more stripped-down rock-and-roll."

Bell has opted to move to the indie label, Surfdog Records to escape his former pop star past, adding:

"I wouldn't have felt comfortable representing myself with this music. I thought, this could all be taken away tomorrow. I just need to do what I love, and what I want to do. I want to sling a guitar over my shoulder and rock. So that's what I did with this record."

Bell recently released his first single from the new record. The song titled,”Bitchcraft,” is a barebones, rockabilly tune. Check out the official music video here.
