The long running CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men has been renewed once again, but the show’s cast list is just one Jon Cryer away from being completely unrecognizable from the original incarnation. However, tonight’s new episode does invoke the name of Jake. Meanwhile, Ashton Kutcher former That 70’s Show costar Mila Kunis is going to me making an appearance this season.
CBS's Two and a Half Men has at least one more year. CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler released a press statement announcing the renewal, as well as that of a network's worth of other shows:
“The best way to launch new shows in the fall and throughout the season is to surround them with a strong and stable lineup of successful series. The shows we’re picking up today cut across every night of the week and feature genre leaders, time period winners and the most-watched shows on broadcast television.”
Two and a Half Men is also all new tonight.
The plot synopsis for tonight’s brand new episode of “Welcome Home, Jake,” reads:
“Lyndsey finally learns that Alan is sleeping with Larry's sister; Walden tries to tell Barry he's got to find his own place.”
It is still unknown if the actor who plays Jake, Angus T. Jones, will return in the new episode. Jones left the show last year after he had a crisis in faith that ultimately lead to a falling out with show producers. Angus is a Seventh-Day Adventist, and took issue with the show's adult themes, referring to himself as a "paid hypocrite" for his work on the controversial series. However, the title of the episode is most likely an refference to actor Clark Duke, whose character Barry looks similar to Jake in passing.
Meanwhile, Mila Kunis is be once again sharing the screen with Ashton Kutcher when she guest stars on the popular sitcom in an upcoming episode.
