ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is desperately trying to turn the sinking ship around. Part of the show’s strategy to regain viewers is to tie-into the greater Marvel universe. Now that Deathlok has been introduced and Lady Sif has stopped by, Marvel’s next move includes an upcoming Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier tie-in. It has also been announced that Heroes vet Adrian Pasdar will be appearing as Hulk villain, Glenn Talbot.
It is no secret that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been struggling to keep viewers. Slow plot development, predictable twist, hacky dialogue and boring characters have caused this Avengers spin-off to loss viewers by the boatload.
However, the show is working on a way to regain viewership. The show is calling in some of Marvel's big guns for a little help….Correction, by big guns, we mean c-listers. The show has just cast Heroes Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar) as Hulk hunter, Glenn Talbot.
The show is also counting on movie tie-ins to bring the viewers back in. Recently Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) spoke to TV Guide about how the upcoming Captain America film will effect the show:
"Ask me again [about a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie] after I've seen Captain America 2.From what I can tell from the trailers, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s a big part of that world...this C.E.N.T.I.P.E.D.E. plot and The Clairvoyant is going to kind of pull a lot of things together and perhaps connects to some of the Marvel films in the same way that a [previous episode] connected, to certain extent, with Thor 2. It will be interesting to see how our team integrates with the world after Captain America [The Winter Soldier]."
