Nobody likes a tattle tale, especially not the ladies from VH1's Mob Wives cast. In fact, it wasn't being shot at by her estranged husband Hector Pagan that finally ended their marriage, it was his turning rat and setting up her father, supposed mafia capo Anthony Graziano. And now he's back at it again, testifying against accomplices to a murder that he alone committed.
Renee Graziano doesn't have it easy. Besides being raised in a culture that prizes loyalty and lies above all else, she lost her father and her husband due to Hector Pagan's own treachery and double dealing with the FBI.
Pagan had agreed to wear a wire around his wife's father Anthony Graziano with the purpose of getting him to incriminate himself on tape to the FBI, so Pagan could get out of the way of a lengthy prison sentence for armed robbery that he was facing.
Now Pagan is at it again, this time to exchange his story of robbery and murder for god only knows what kind of deal that will allow him, an admitted murderer, back onto the streets even more swiftly.
But the judge, who helped originally bring John Gotti to trial back in 1987, and the prosecution are far more worried about the extra attention upsetting the jurors than any of Pagan's associates.
The prosecution having dealt with jury tampering of all kinds on every level in these mob trails before, openly aired its concerns before the judge in court says The Daily Beast:
"Members of the press or the producers of Mob Wives may attempt to contact jurors, if their identities are known, to generate additional stories surrounding the trial and [Pagan's] testimony.
"The expected media attention may put significant pressure on jurors to reach a verdict based on considerations other than the evidence presented at trial, for example to either avoid the notoriety associated with the show or to seek it out."
So Judge John Gleeson ruled that the member of the jury would have their names known only to the court and the members of both legal teams but not the media.
So, it looks like that Mob Wives court room spin-off isn't going to making its way onto reality television anytime soon.
