‘Arrow:’ Joker’s Harley Quinn In Suicide Squad Rumors Update and ‘Avengers’ Comparisons

It is a good time to be a fan of Arrow and the greater DC universe. The Suicide Squad will finally come together as a team. The show has been building to this episode since the first season. The team-up has been compared to the Marvel movie Avengers. An Easter egg in the episode’s trailer suggests that Batman villain and Joker sidekick Harley Quinn will appear in the new episode.

Next week's new episode of Arrow fills like a backdoor pilot for the Suicide Squad. In a production preview, Arrow Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim compares tonight’s episode to the hit Marvel movie Avengers:

“The title says it all: The Suicide Squad. It’s our Avengers. We’ve been slowly laying the seeds for this particular episode all throughout the season. All of these characters that we’ve been slowly seeding in, starting from episode three of last season, all of those seeds come together and give birth to the Suicide Squad.”

Shortly after the first trailer for the episode started to air, fans noticed that a woman looking like comic Squad member Harley Quinn was seen in the background. It was later revealed that the actress in the trailer is Cassidy Alexa. Comic Book Therapy reached out to Alexa’s agent, Webster Talent head Andrew Webster, who told them:

“Cassidy Alexa is getting a lot of heat surrounding her upcoming ‘cameo’ on Arrow. I’m in the dark as to what the producers have planned for her so we’ll have to find out. She’s a very exciting young actress to keep an eye on.

I’m blessed that CW does like to hire my clients. They’ve established a solid presence on the Hollywood North landscape and look to strengthen those ties with new shows, Flash, iZombie and Tribes, which could be a worthy successor to Supernatural.”

Tune into the new episode next wensday at 8:00 p.m. on the CW, to see if Alexa really is Quinn.
