The New York Philaharmonic will be conducted by Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos on Oct. 18 to Oct. 23 at the Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.
The Oct. 18 premier will start at 7:30 p.m. The Oct. 19, Friday show will kickoff at 11 a.m. then on Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. and the Oct. 23 show will be at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will range from $33 to $107.
Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos will conduct Berlioz's "Symphonie fantastique," alongside the New York Philharmonic and violinist Augustin Hadelich.
The program on the evening will see the ensemble play firstly Lalo's "Symphonie Espagnole," followed by the featured Berlioz "Symphonie fanatstique."
Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos studied violin, piano and composition in his native Spain in the cities of Bilbao and Madrid.
The conductor has worked with a slew of orchestras such as the Rundfunkorchester Berlin where he was the music director. He also had stints with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra as the artistic director and was the chief conductor of both the Bilbao Orchestra and the Vienna Symphony.
Other links include being a conductor for the Philadelphia Orchestra at one point and the Spaniard is an honorary conductor of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony orchestra in Japan.
Fruhbeck de Burgos was also the principal conductor for the RAI National Symphony Orchestra in Italy form 2001 to 2007 all while being a music director for the Dresden Philharmonic in 2004.
Currently Fruhbeck de Burgos was announced to be the next principal conductor for the Danish National Symphony Orchestra a post running from 2011 to 2015.
Augustin Hadelich is an Italian born German violinist who has worked with numerous top orchestras around the world that include the Philadelphia Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic and Tokyo Symphony and has made Carnegie Hall one of his list of stops made on his world tourney.
