For fans of CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, it is the end of an era and the start of a new one. The hit sitcom starring Neil Patrick Harris is about to end. However, the show’s spin-off, How I Met Your Dad, has started casting.
How I Met Your Mother is about to end. The cast has already wrapped and started to move on with their lives. Alyson Hannigan recently tweeted her goodbyes, writing:
“I am officially wrapped from How I Met Your Mother!!! It has been a true pleasure to be a part of this family. Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!”
Before the fans have to say goodbye, there are still a few episodes of the left. The official plot synopsis for tonight’s new episode, titled “Daisy,” reads:
“Marshall recruits Ted and Barney to help him to get to the bottom of the mystery of where Lily disappeared to when she bolted in the middle of their argument.”
However, fans will be happy to know that the sequel/spin-off series How I Met Your Dad is coming along. The show stars Greta Gerwig.
Gerwig recently spoke to E! News about the new show and how the original cast gave her their blessing:
"They're so nice! I went and I hung out with all the cast and they were like, 'If you can be part of this world, it's crazy fun. They told me they believed in me, and it was really sweet."
Gerwig is not just the star of the new series, but she will also write and produce as she went on to add:
"I contributed a lot into the pilot, and I'll be in the writers room staring June 1 if they pick it up. I shoot the pilot in like two weeks and then hopefully it becomes a real show."
