It is a good time for fans of the Fox series The Following. There is an all new episode of the killer cult thriller airing tonight. The hit drama has also been renewed for a third season. The show stars Kevin Bacon, best known for pretty much everything. Speaking of, the game Six Degrees of Separation from Kevin Bacon is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Fox’s The Following is all new tonight. The official plot synopsis for the new episode, titled “The Messenger,” reads:
“Ryan searches for new answers by tracking down the man who taught Joe to kill. Meanwhile, Emma and Mandy wait for Joe to reveal his new plan while he gets his bearings.”
The episode focuses on Emma played by actress Valorie Curry. Curry recently opened up to TVGuide about her character’s arc:
“She's been through a lot emotionally.... She was in this place of real grief still over Joe--and over her life that she had, that she'd lost because of him--and hadn't really picked up any pieces. She was holding it all together really, really tightly. So, when Lily and her crew, the twins and whatnot, came out of the woodwork and approached her and tried to win her over, she still had to have that façade...until she finally sees Joe and everything falls apart.”
It was just announced over the weekend that The Following will return for a third season next year. The show is just the latest feather in Kevin Bacon’s cap. The actor has quite the impressive resume.
So much so, that well known parlor game Six Degrees of Separation from Kevin Bacon was created. Kevin Bacon, himself, recently spoke about the game at the South by Southwest Interactive festival, in celebration of it’s 20th anniversary.
"I was horrified by it. I thought it was a giant joke at my expense. I appreciate it now. But I was very resistant to it (at first)."
The Following airs tonight at 9:00 p.m.
