Mob Wives series creator Jennifer Di Michele claims that money was the deciding factor in eliminating old characters and bringing in new wives. Alicia DiMichele has been forced by a judge to return all the money she made off the show. Renee Graziano hates DiMichele and is happy to hear the news that she's in trouble. While Drita D'Avanzo just wants people to know the Mob Wives are the real brawlers of reality television.
According to the creator of VH1's Mob Wives, the decision to make Season 4 without Karen Grazano, Carla Facciolo, Ramonoa Rizzo and Love Majewski was made by the exiting ladies not by the producers or anyone else.
In an interview with After Buzz TV, she admitted that the Wives didn't get a raise for after Season 3, so they just didn't show up for the New Blood season (via Digital Journal):
"They were looking for more money as they can and rightfully should. I don't have final decisions on all of this...There wasn't any room for negotiation.
"They didn't show up for work, they breached their contract.
"I spoke with [Karen] all the time, you need to come to work, you should come to work. I told them all... I don't know the exact reason why anyone didn't show up.
"All I know is that they didn't."
Raise or no raise, new cast member Alicia DiMichele isn't going to be seeing any of that Mob Wives money anyway.
Prosecutors in her ongoing federal fraud case argued successfully to a judge that Alicia's earnings from the show were tantamount to drug money (via Fashion and Style):
"The defendant's decision to participate in and profit from a television show that glorifies organized crime and those who participate in it, and demonizes the government for prosecuting these individuals, including (DiMichele), demonstrates that she fails to appreciate the seriousness of the charged crime and her life choices.
"To allow her to profit from such an endeavor would be a manifest injustice. Accordingly she should not retain any of her earnings (from the show)."
If you follow that logic NWA and Ice T probably owe the government quiet a lot of money as well, but some would call that government censorship.
Renee Graziano could care less about the legal precedent, she is tired of Alicia's bull, and is glad that she is in a lot of legal hot water (via Radar Online):
"[Alicia's] full of sh-t!..Don't go on a show called Mob Wives and expect people NOT to talk about your business. I'm tired of it. I didn't commit her crime. I'm not responsible. I'm over it.
"I was actually trying to help her out, but she chose to rip it apart instead. Miss innocent, you're guilty. I'm done."
Guess we won't be seeing DiMichelle next season unless she does it pro bono.
