Batman: Arkham Knight was just announced. The latest installment of Rocksteady’s hit game series will feature the return of beloved Batman: The Animated Series voice actor Kevin Conroy. The Batmobile will also be driveable for the very first time. Batman will need all of his toys to navigate the larger city, as well take on the game's mysterious new villain, created just for the game.
Rocksteady co-creator Sefton Hill recently sat down with Game Informer, where he shed some light on the game's new villain, known only as The Arkham Knight:
“We hadn’t in the previous games introduced someone new to the universe. We wanted to introduce someone who could really challenge Batman to go head to head with him in lots of different ways. We’re not talking about those ways just yet but this guy is definitely a formidable foe for Batman.”
Unlike Batman: Arkham Origins, this game will feature the return of Kevin Conroy. Conroy voiced Batman in the first two Batman: Arkham games produced by Rocksteady as well the classic cartoon, Batman: The Animated Series.
The game will not include a multiplayer version, as Hill adds:
"This is a single-player game. There is no multiplayer Right at the start this was our vision. It's going to take all of our effort for all of this time. We don’t have the time to do multiplayer.”
Who cares about multiplayer, when you got the Batmobile? Hill also recently spoke to CVG about Batmans new ride:
"The Arkham games have always been about providing that power fantasy, about being and feeling like Batman. We're going to take it further with the addition of the Batmobile and the bigger city. We've known it's what people want. When you're Batman you do think Batmobile, It's the one key thing we felt we really always wanted to do. And also that refreshes the whole experience, which I really think it does. What we're always trying to do is [make] every game feel like a new game rather than another episode of the last one".
According to leaked presale info, Batmobile skins will also be available.
