The cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries has been through an awful lot in the last few weeks. Crew member Sarah Jones was tragically killed while working on the set of Midnight Rider. Her TVD family and many others successfully petitioned to have her name included in the In Memoriam at this past Sunday’s Oscars. Meanwhile, Paul Wesley, the actor who plays Stefan on the show, has had a near death scare of his own. He recently opened about having a gun pulled on him.
The Vampire Diaries is all new tonight. The official plot synopsis for tonight’s new episode, titled “Gone Girl,” reads:
“Nadia recalls her centuries-long search for her mother; Stefan, Caroline and Matt come up with a desperate plan to save Elena's life; Damon baits Tyler into an ugly confrontation and seeks revenge against Dr. Wes; Bonnie learns a terrifying secret that threatens the lives of all her friends.”
Paul Wesley has been sharpening more than just his fangs lately. The actor is trying his hand behind the camera, directing an episode of the series. Wesley recently tweeted about the experience:
“Officially wrapped my first ep as director. Relatively confident I didn't entirely screw it up.”
Wesley recently opened up about a recent encounter, where he had a gun pulled on him, tweeting:
“A seemingly random act of a gun being pulled on me yesterday only compounded my deep loathing and disgust for the gun laws in this country.”
As of the time of this report, Wesley has not went into any further detail on the subject.
The cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries, as well as many members of the film community, are still reeling with the loss of Sarah Jones, a young camera assistant who was struck by a train on the set of the Midnight Rider.
Thanks to a petition, the Academy included Jones in the In Memoriam during last Sunday’s Oscar ceremonies.
Several of Sarah’s friends on the cast and crew have also shared their own memories, including Ian Somerhalder, who tweeted:
“My heart is heavy-the TVD fam&I lost a very dear sister of ours.An amazing woman, leaving us too soon.Hug your loved ones, hug them so tightly.”
