Engaged Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman News: Baby Beach Safe; Unhealthy Weight Gain Needs Diet

Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman are expected to announce engagement news to the world any day now or at least diet news. The surly producer's baby may be beach safe, but Simon's own baby pudge is reportedly passing the line from unsightly to unhealthy.

Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman were elated to welcome their son Eric into the world a few weeks ago, but they haven't been so happy about all the extra fat that has been added on to their bodies during the gestation.

Lauren is reportedly just as tired with Cowell's weight as she is with her own and thinks that the X Factor creator needs to do something about it ASAP.

A friend close to Cowell told OK! that Simon knows something needs to be done, even if he would never admit it to Silverman:

"[Simon's] knows he's got to spend more time in the gym and eat better.

"His plan was to lose some weight and give up smoking, but so far he's struck out at both.

"He's been eating for two, and it looks like a lot of it has gone o his belly and his man boobs!

"He's failed miserably."

To be fair to Simon, he has had plenty to distract him away from his diet.

The 54-year-old couldn't even take a stroll on the beach with his family on vacation without having to explain that he wasn't letting his tiny dogs rip his baby's face off (via Metro):

"Eric is one hundred percent doing brilliantly.

"I just want people to be clear that, yes, he has gone on a plane very early on, but the pediatrician in New York cleared him to travel. We would not have done it otherwise. We would never dream of putting him at any risk.

"The dog wasn't licking [Eric's] face, he was sniffing him. What I wanted was for the dogs to get used to him. My parents did just the same for me when I was a baby and we had dogs."

The dogs still never liked him and tried to tear him limb from limb anyways, but that is where he learned it.
