Tonight Archer: Vice heads to the “Danger Zone” in an all new episode, featuring Kenny Loggins. Meanwhile, the gang from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is keeping it Footloose on their new network, FXX, despite cancellation rumors.
Well, it finally happened. After four and a half seasons of Danger Zone references and one Top Gun video remake, Kenny Loggins is finally joining forces with the gang of Archer.
Loggins recently spoke to Comic Book Resources about entering the “Danger Zone” once again:
“As you know, Archer has been referring to ‘Danger Zone’ for quite a while. I have five kids. My oldest is 22, and he thinks it was inevitable that they would call and say, ‘Would you like to be a character on the show?’ I think they just finally went, ‘Well, we’ve gone so far with this joke. We’ve got to take it all the way.’”
He went on to say that he might be making a return trip, adding:
“I really enjoyed doing it. I’d be happy to do another appearance. I’m sure they are watching to see how it goes over. I think the episode came out better than we anticipated. It really works and I’m hoping to get to do it again.”
Meanwhile, the former FX series It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is going strong after making the move to new sister network, FXX. The show suffered a small ratings drop thanks in large part to the new network not being available in as many homes as before.
Glenn Howerton, A.K.A Dennis Reynolds, recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the show's close call with cancellation:
“There was a time when season nine might have been the last season--and, interestingly enough, as important a decision as this is, the three of us came to an idea of how to end the show that we all really liked a lot and are leaning toward. That's not to say it will be the one we end up with.”
Archer airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. on FX.
