NBC’s Parks and Rec has had a few notable politicians drop by before, but no one as big as The First Lady. It was recently announced that Michelle Obama may will be making a cameo in the season finale. Meanwhile, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey have both signed deals with the network to develop a new series for NBC. That is something that is bound to make many 30 Rock and P&R fans happy.
Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) has rubbed elbows with the Vice President Joe Biden and even Republican Senator John McCain. Now it has been reported that the First Lady, Michelle Obama, will be stopping by the series for a cameo in the season finale.
The season finale of Parks and Rec will air on Thursday April 24. The show has been renewed for a seventh and possibly finale season. However, NBC is far from done with Amy Poehler. Both Poehler and her former SNL co-star,Tina Fey have signed development deals with the network.
Fey and her old 30 Rock cohort Robert Carlock are working on a new series, called Tooken, starring The Office’s Ellie Kemper.
Robert Greenblatt, NBC’s Chairman, released a statement to the press about the new show, saying:
“Tina and Robert, who cemented their partnership on 30 Rock, have created a new signature comedy for us that is audacious, emotional, and clever.While tapping into very relatable themes, there isn’t anything like this anywhere else on television. NBC has been their home for many years and we’re so happy that they’ve found another way to push the comedy envelope for us.”
It has recently been announced that 30 Rock alumni, Tituss Burgess, A.K A, America's Kidz Got Singing judge, D'Fwan.
