MacBook Pro Retina 13 inch Release Date Unknown: Price Rumored Specs Rumored

Apple's MacBook Pro is on course for future release despite problems cited with its new 13 inch Retina display. On Thursday according to DigiTimes a Taiwanese publication not only has the new MacBook Pro had to get its release date pushed back but so did other new Apple products like the currently available iPhone 5 and also the soon to be released iPad Mini.

The delay on release for the new 13 inch MacBook was due to what Apple calls "weak yields," of its high resolution screens. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in the past that July would have been the time the MacBook would have been released but Apple did no such thing instead opted to push forward with the 15 inch version of the product instead.

Slated for later this year the iPad Mini is rumoured to be suffering from the same "weak yields," according to industry officials and to go along with the affected screen the new iPad Mini is also rumored to have had low yields from the chassis as well.

The new MacBook according to DisplaySearch's analyst Richard Shim, the new device will boast a 2560x1600 resolution in comparison to the 15 inch version that sports a 2880x1800 resolution. Shim also believes that the new MacBook will be released at a lower price than its 15 inch counterpart the at around $2,199.

The 13 inch MacBook Pro was slated for a September release earlier in the year and Shim believes due to the oncoming release of the iPad Mini, Apple won't make a statement about the new item until the iPad Mini's arrival.
