Portia de Rossi's wife Ellen DeGeneres has been frantically denying rumors of affairs and cheating, as well as divorce. As the Oscars near, Ellen, who is set to host the event, is constantly filling the news with declarations of her love and promises that the couple are still in love, despite Portia having been photographed around town without her wedding ring. This has lead some people to believe that she is the one behind the new attempt to shift gossip to her new $40 million mansion that is not reportedly haunted.
Just before rumors about Portia's marital unhappiness hit the tabloids, Ellen tried to shore up de Rossi's affection with a $40 million home in the Hollywood Hills.
Real estate expert Cristin Zweig tells Life & Style that DeGeneres picked up one of the finest house in all of Los Angeles, if not the entire planet:
"It's truly known as the best house in L.A. It's six bedrooms, nine-and-half baths, and was designed by überfamous architect A. Quincy Jones."
But one source cited by the Mirror claims that if A. Quincy Jones want the house back he can have it, because the mansion is as haunted as Hill House:
"The house has been remodeled, so Ellen thought it would have no trace of the former owner. But she was wrong. Within a few nights of moving in Ellen started hearing random noises including footsteps and doors opening and closing.
"Then, in the middle of the night she heard a woman's faint cry. Ellen was totally freaked out. She hasn't had a solid night's sleep ever since she moved in.
"Friends have convinced Ellen to conduct a spiritual cleansing ceremony in the house. She doesn't want her new home to have any bad energy, and she's not going to share it with [the home's ghostly inhabitants]"
How funny is that? Ellen doesn't want to live in the house with the dead people, and Portia doesn't want to stay there because of the living.
