Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier is almost here and a brand new featurette has been released featuring Cap and Anthony Mackie’s Falcon. However, Mackie might not be back for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.
In a new featurette, Marvel’s president of production and official word user-upper, Kevin Feige points out that Cap doesn’t have a lot of friends in this new modern world:
"Cap gets to a certain point in the film where he's not sure who he can trust"
Chris Evans also chimes in on the subject, saying:
"Sometimes the person you need to trust is a stranger".
That is where The Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie, comes in. In the new film, Cap is joined by the winged Avenger in his fight against HYDRA. However, The Falcon’s future in the MCU is still unknown.
In a recent interview with Total Film, Mackie opened up about not knowing if he is going to be in Avengers 2: Age of Ultron:
““I'm like, 'So have y'all decided if I'm in Avengers 2 yet? I'll get on the bus to Albuquerque tomorrow! I wanted to be a superhero since the first day that I started in this business, and to have the opportunity to be a superhero is kind of remarkable.I'm under contract for a bunch of movies, but I don't know if Avengers 2 is one of those movies..“If I get the opportunity to be in The Avengers 2, 3, 7 and 18, there’s no way I would complain or balk at any part of that.”
