Majorly minimal keyboard god Charlemagne Palestine returns to Brooklyn on Thursday, thanks to the good people at ISSUE Project Room.
Unlike last time, though, he won't be strumming ISSUE's Bösendorfer. And he won't be up on Boerum Hill either.
No, ISSUE's installing Palestine behind the stops of the Aeolian-Skinner organ at Plymouth Church in Brooklyn Heights.
Heralded throughout the boroughs for its "American Classic" sound, Palestine's first-ever organ concert here in New York will be something of a homecoming. The self-proclaimed "maximalist composer" also claims to have developed his organ technique during the '60s at the Unitarian Church on Central Park West.
Don't you be a stranger, then, come Thursday, March 6 at 8 p.m.
Tickets are but a mere $25, only $18 for students and ISSUE Project members.
Trust us, for that price, it's totally worth it.
