The new generation of the iPod Touch is in line to join the Apple rooster that currently consists of the newly released iPhone 5 and the soon to be released iPad Mini.
The 5th generation of the iPod Touch will cost Apple buyers on release $299 and will come in the 32GB and 64GB capacities.
The first sighting of the new Apple hardware came in September 2012 and the release date is still unknown for now. The iPod Touch as a product has taken a hiatus from the market with the last installment in the series the iPod Touch 4 surfacing in 2010 with 16GB and 32GB versions. The line had taken a back seat to in recent times Apple's MacBook Air, iPhones and iPads.
This time around the iPod Touch 5 will have a sleeker look to what Apple users are use to. The item will sport a 5 mega pixel camera with 1080p video and upgrade from the 720p its predecessor carried.
In comparison to the iPhone 5's 3.95 ounces the new iPod Touch will tip the scales at 3.1 ounces and will be 0.24 inches compared to the iPhone 5's 0.30 inches. In comparison to the older model iPod Touch 4 the new product clears the 0.28 inches and 3.56 ounces mark set by its dated partner.
When purchasing the new iPod Touch 5 customers will receive along with the device itself a USB-to-Lighting Cable and the new ear friendly headphones from Apple. The new product will have a A5 processor.
