Toyota Recall 2012: RAV4, Camry,Corolla, Vios, Matrix, Sequoia

Automotive giant Toyota will be recalling 7.4 million cars worldwide on Oct. 10 over what they say to be faulty window switches. Cars that have this mechanical mishap include the Yaris, Corolla and Camry.

The Japanese manufacture's recall according to bbc.co.uk affects 2.47 million cars in the United States, 1.4 million in China, 1.39 in the United Kingdom and just over 138,000 vehicles in mainland Europe.

Toyota is said to be also recalling it's vehicles from its base in Japan in the amount of 459,000 while in Australia the manufacturer will recall 650,000 cars with recalls set for Asia, the Middle East and Canada.

To go along with the Yaris, Corolla and Camry cars that are being recalled include; the Vios, Matrix, Auris, RAV4, Highlander, Sequoia and xB and xD models manufactured in 2005 and 2010. Toyota said that the problem is a switch that can be fixed within an hour and urges owners of affected models to bring in their vehicles to see if it was Toyota's fault.

Steve Settle of director Toyota Great Britain (GB) said

"What we're talking about is the power switch on the driver's door and there is a very, very outside chance that there could be melting inside the switch. "But there are some vehicle agencies around the world that interpret melting as fire. We've no evidence of fire and our engineer testing of this item doesn't reveal any chance of fire."

Toyota has had problems as recent 2009 where the company had to recall 12 million vehicles citing the problem were with the accelerator pedals.

Since the recall no one has died as a result of Toyota's damaged products.
