Filming has officially begun on the upcoming Marvel team up film, Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. Now the studio is already planning on previewing footage from the new film on ABC TV next month.
Avengers 2: Age of Ultron has reportedly started production with filming underway in South Africa. The footage is of the streets of Johannesburg being ransacked by an unseen force that will later be added via CGI.
A video of the destructive rampage leaked online, leading many to assume that the Hulk was to blame. Mark Ruffalo himself seemingly confirmed this when he tweeted:
“Sorry for the mess. I can keep a lid in it usually but when I blow it's bad.”
Now there is a chance that you will be able see that footage next month. Marvel has recently announced a new special “Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe” airing on ABC, Tuesday, March 18 at 8 p.m.
According to a press statement, the special will feature a first look at the upcoming Avengers sequel, as well footage from the rest of the Phase Two offerings, giving fans a “front row seat to the inception of Marvel Studios, the record-breaking films, the cultural phenomenon, and further expansion of the universe by Marvel Television.”
The Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson, recently spoke to Parade about the new film:
"I think the script is dark and it's dry, it's got this amazing one-liner, glass-cutting sense of humour.Obviously the script is very cerebral. It doesn't lose that exciting comic book aspect that people enjoyed in the first film, but it's smart and it feels like the next instalment. It doesn't feel like a rehashing, it feels like these characters are moving forward, plotlines are moving forward. It's deep and I think that's why people really respond to the Marvel universe, because the films are fun and exciting and have all that flashy stuff, but there's a gravity to them. People can expect that gravity this time around."
