Jared Leto, whose dying in Dallas Buyers Club brought the world a catharsis so sweet that it must be rewarded, has been rumored to be dating both Miley Cyrus and Lupita Nyong'o in the weeks since his Oscar nomination. Miley hasn't publicly distanced herself from Leto like Lupita has, probably because she sometimes confuses edgy with trashy, but she won't be attending the big awards night with Jared, his mom will, according to the latest news.
Lupita Nyong'o, best known for her Oscar nominated performance in 12Years a Slave, quickly set the record straight by laughing off the idea that she and Jared Leto could ever possibly be an item, when the subject was broached on Ellen last week (via Daily Mail):
"Ah, but I thought Miley Cyrus broke us up. That was the last thing I heard."
Lupita is referring the rumors in tabloids like Us Weekly that has sources alleging that not only have Leto and Miley Cyrus spent the night together, they were naked the entire time:
"[Miley Cyrus and Jared Leto] are hooking up. She stayed over at his house in L.A. in early February.
"They like to have a good time, they love to talk about art and music--and they're both comfortable with nudity!"
But since the have to keep their clothes on for the Academy Awards, Jared opted to take his mother to the event instead.
The Oscar favorite posted a screenshot on Instagram of his mom's face during their Facetime conversation, when he told her:
"My mother's face when @shannonleto and I told her she was coming to the #Oscars with us! :)"
It probably wasn't as big as a surprise to his mom as you think; Leto already brought Constance to the 86th Oscar Nominees Luncheon earlier this month.
Leto, says the Belfast Telegraph, is more than happy to have his mother by his side:
"My mother always wanted to do something better with her life [and] for her children. She taught me to dream and then to do the work that it takes to make dreams become reality. It's been fun to bring her around."
Ahh...wonder if he introduces her to Miley.
