It is a good time to be an R.L. Stine fan. The children’s horror novel writer is about to have two brand new projects to creep out kids. It was recently announced that MTV has picked up a brand new TV series based around Stine’s Eye Candy series. The new show, starring Victorious star Victoria Justice, has received a 10 episode order. Meanwhile, Tenacious D rocker Jack Black has been cast to star in a film adaptation of Stine’s Goosebumps series.

Did you spend your childhood afraid of the the ghost and ghouls from Fear Street? Well the nightmares are far from over. Goosebumps is back, and this time on the big screen.

Kung Fu Panda and School of Rock star Jack Black has officially been cast to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Stein's famous Goosebumps book series.

The movie will also co-star young actor Dylan Minnette. A leaked plot synopsis for the new film states that Minnette’s character lives next door to a real life Stine. Monsters from the writer's books somehow escape and are released into the real world.

Meanwhile, Stine is also a little bit more grown up in MTV’s new series, Eye Candy. The show will star Victorious lead Victoria Justice. The show’s pilot has already been picked up for a ten episode order.

The series will feature a group of young women, who track a killer in NYC, as the official IMDB plot synopsis states:

“A New York woman suspects that one of her online dates is a serial killer.”

This is one of Justice’s latest steps back into the limelight. The actress/singer recently released a cover of A Great Big World’s hit song, “Say Something," with Max Schneider. Justice is releasing her debut solo album, Shake, later this year.
