'Avengers 2: Age of Ultron' Filming Begins, 'Captain America’s' Falcon Anthony Mackie Talks Casting

With Thor 2: The Dark World out on Blu Ray and the official trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy now online, Marvel is looking ahead to Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. The sequel to the 2011 hit superhero team up film has reportedly officially began filming. And by filming, we mean blowing stuff up. After all, you have to bust up some blocks in order to make a blockbuster. However, Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier star Anthony “The Falcon” Mackie might not be taking flight with the team in the new movie.

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron has reportedly began filming in Johannesburg. Rumor has it that The Hulk will be smashing the streets of South Africa some time in the upcoming film.

When a video of the Hulk’s supposed destructive rampage leaked online, Mark Ruffalo himself, tweeted:

“Sorry for the mess. I can keep a lid in it usually but when I blow it's bad.”

Filming may have begun, but apparently not for Captain America 2’s Anthony Mackie. Mackie, who plays the hero The Falcon, recently spoke with Total Film about not knowing if he is going to be in Avengers 2: Age of Ultron:

““I'm like, 'So have y'all decided if I'm in Avengers 2 yet? I'll get on the bus to Albuquerque tomorrow! I wanted to be a superhero since the first day that I started in this business, and to have the opportunity to be a superhero is kind of remarkable.I'm under contract for a bunch of movies, but I don't know if Avengers 2 is one of those movies..“If I get the opportunity to be in The Avengers 2, 3, 7 and 18, there’s no way I would complain or balk at any part of that.”

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron releases on May 1, 2015.
