Fans of Hunger Games 2 may find themselves in a state of unrest today. Jennifer Lawrence, who is rumored to be engaged, may be quitting acting. Rumor has it that she is taking break so that she can plan her wedding to boyfriend Nicholas Hoult.
Jennifer Lawrence won't be filming a Hunger Games film, or any other movie for that matter, anytime soon. The 23-year-old actress decided to take a break while she is on top of the world, a move that has some concerned.
Achieving A-lister status is so rarely attained, many fear that Lawrence could lose momentum. Others, like super producer Harvey Weinstein, thinks it's exactly what the young woman needs as he told Sun on Sunday (via Sidney Morning Herald):
"She's going to have a long break for a year where she won't do anything. It's been nonstop for her and she deserves a rest. Jennifer is too nice and will do people favors and agrees to do a movie like American Hustle when she could have had a rest."
The world renowned producer also took a swipe at the popular Hunger Games franchise, which many feel exploited J-Law into signing a long-term contract that pays nearly nothing:
"She signed on to do Hunger Games when she was young and wouldn't have realised how much it would dominate her life. But she's a professional and always will be."
Of course, there is also the chance that Jennifer could have taken a year off to plan a wedding to her boyfriend, Nicholas Hoult. After all, the tabloids have suggested that the two have been secretly engaged for months though.
One of those sources happens to be OK! Magazine, which announced that the actress and Nich were engaged over Christmas. Unfortunately, this turned out to be false, as OK! was forced to redact the following paragraph, where they quoted a source as claiming:
"All the family had gathered in the living room, enjoying the night before Christmas when Nick asked for everyone's attention and began giving a speech to Jennifer. He stood up and took her hand, helping her to stand up as well. When she was on her feet, he knelt down and pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked her to marry him."
What do you think about Harvey's comments? Did Hunger Games exploit her? Should she take a year off?
