A 75 year old man is inspiring ballerinas in New York with his moves. Finis Jhung a professional ballet teacher continues to teach the art at his age at a very high level.
Jhung is currently employed at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre where he teaches during the week. Jhung has been doing ballet for 60 years and first hit the stage at the age of 11.
Jhung in the 1960s did ballet on Broadway but most of his work has come as a teacher throughout the years.
Joseph Harrington who performed in the hit Broadway "Billy Elliot," is a still a student of Jhung and in a CBS interview said. "I definitely want to be like him when I grow up. Still out and about at 75. That's crazy."
Jhung teaches ballet to both young and old and cited them as his inspiration to keep dancing. "My students, my adult students are my inspiration. They can start to so these movements and they start to look like ballet dancers."
"I love it...that's my job. I've loved ballet since I was six years old and I still do," said Jhung in a CBS interview.
Along with his ballet instructing in class Finis Jhung gives instructional DVDs on how to do ballet as well as DVDs for senior citizens on how to stay young.
Some of the DVDs on how to be a ballerina range from targeting specific actions such as gesturing and posturing to teaching various levels of the art form. Jhung's latest work is entitled "The Ten Minute Ballet Break."
