It is no secret that some people have a problem with Ben Affleck playing Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel. Recently, Dads and Robot Chicken star Seth Green blasted the casting decision, claiming that Superman would not be afraid of Batfleck. However, new photos of a buff-Batsuit ready Affleck have started popping up that might change any naysayers mind.
Recently actor, writer and geek icon, Seth Green, publicly jumped on the Ben Affleck bash wagon when he told Larry King why he thought that the actor shouldn’t be Batman:
“If this movie is meant to be the idealistic alien, humans-before-all-else Superman, and this is supposed to be the grizzled, weathered Batman who’s been living in Gotham, fighting crime himself for 10 years, you need a guy who’s older. You need a guy who’s got more weight, and you need a guy that a Henry Cavill Superman is gonna be actually scared of. You need to remember that Batman is just a dude, he’s got no powers. So the fact that Superman is scared of him says something about the gravitas that he carries, and it’s not just because he’s willing to kill, it’s because he’s scary.”
Green later cleared up some of the shade, by writing on Twitter:
“For the record, I actually think Ben Afleck is a great actor, fantastic writer & excellent director.”
However, if you have gotten a good look at Ben Affleck lately, anyone can see that the actor has definitely bulked up.
Recently Gone Girl costume director Trish Summerville recently told E! Online about trying stop Affleck from working out long enough to finish the film:
"I'm trying to keep him at the size he's at right now until he's done with us. I'm sure he's working out, but I think for him, he's probably a guy that builds up really quickly so I just kind of asked him if he can stay where he's at right now. He's a really big guy, like he's quite tall. You don't realise how big he is. He kind of reads smaller on film than he does in real life."
