Sad news for fans of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The Avengers TV spin-off is still on hiatus for one more week. The struggling show will return with a new focus, featuring Bill Paxton as Cyborg S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and the newly created Deathlok. Check out our preview of next week’s new episode.
In the last episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Stan “The Man” Lee, speaking to Clark Gregg’s character, gave what felt like a message to the struggling series:
“Now is your chance to do better! Why don’t you see that you take it!”
That is what the show is planning on doing…after an extended hiatus of course. The show is returning next week with an all new episode, one week after the Olympics end.
The official plot synopsis for the all new return episode, titled "T.A.H.I.T.I." reads:
“Agent Coulson solicits help from Ward's former S.O., John Garrett (Bill Paxton) on his mission to save Skye and discovers new information about himself and S.H.I.E.L.D. in the process.”
Bill Paxton will be playing John Garrett, a robotic S.H.I.E.L.D. agent from the comics.
Writer and executive producer Jed Whedon, recently spoke to MTV about the newest agent:
"We wanted to bring in a rough-and-tumble former cohort of Agent Coulson with a little bit of attitude and cigar-smoking swagger. When Garrett got his promotion to Level 7, he refused to sit behind a desk and doesn't like the formalities of S.H.I.E.L.D. He's going to help Coulson solve some mysteries and is not afraid to rig an explosive or two."
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D returns next Tuesday on ABC.
