Tonight is a big night for NBC. The hit series The Blacklist, starring James Spader, is returning from its Winter Olympics hiatus. The network is also bringing back the smash hit singing competition The Voice for its sixth season.
NBC’s record breaking darkhorse drama, The Blacklist, is back...after two winter breaks. The hit series returns tonight with an all new episode titled, “Madeline Pratt.”
The official plot synopsis for the new episode reads:
“An issue of national security centers on an ancient artifact. Also: Red puts the focus on a woman from his past; Red persuades Liz to pull off a shadowy heist; and Tom tries to come to terms with a looming adoption.”
The hit series has already been picked up for a second season. Rob Greenblatt, NBC’s Chairman, released a statement to the press about the renewal:
"The success of The Blacklist demonstrates that inspired storytelling is alive and well in broadcast television, and I'm impressed on a daily basis by this creative team's imagination and the extent to which they will go to capture this grand vision on film. With gratitude to both our partners at Sony Pictures Television and our NBC development executives who took a great script and shepherded it into a great series, I hope that Red Reddington never runs out of names to bring down on his list!"
Meanwhile, the smash hit The Voice also returns tonight with the premiere of it’s sixth season.
This season host will be the always present Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, alongside part timers, Usher and Shakira. Original host, Cee Lo Green recently announced to he will not be returning to the series.
