Simon Cowell was almost overjoyed when he arrived in New York just in time to be with Lauren Silverman, as she gave birth to their brand new baby boy Eric. But that doesn't mean he wants to get married if Lauren is still fighting the prenup. Looks like any wedding plans are getting cancelled, right along with X Factor America.
Simon Cowell, who once famously bragged that he wouldn't be "going soft" once his baby was born, was reduced to a drooling weeping mess by his son Eric's arrival into this world.
Cowell kept the public announcement devoid of too much sentiment, when he tweeted a photo of the new fam with a sweet but not overly so caption:
"I never knew how much love and pride I would feel."
An insider told In Touch that Simon was little bit more overwhelmed when he surprised his lover with literal tears of joy:
"Lauren never expected Simon to get emotional, but he cried when he saw Eric and has barely put him down since.
"He's become a big mushball."
Simon more than likely surprised her again, when he revealed that without a prenuptial agreement, there would be no nuptials at all.
But Nigel Lythgoe Cowell's close friend and business associate told In Touch that Simon preferred it that way anyway:
"Simon wants to live like they are married without the paper. He think that providing for Lauren and Eric is more important than a wedding."
And when Nigel spoke to OK! Magazine, he told them that he would be surprised if Simon ever agreed to marry anyone:
"I don't know about the marriage side. [Simon] has never appeared to me to be the marrying type. But he's going to be a very proud [dad], that's for sure."
Let's just hope for Eric's sake that he at least believes in a will.
