LIMA-- Dutch convicted felon Joan van der Sloot has impregnated a Peruvian woman during his imprisonment at the Pierdas Gordas prison in Lima.
De Telegraaf a Dutch newspaper was told by van der Sloot's lawyer Maximo Altez that van der Sloot can confirm that it is true and that the pregnancy of the Peruvian woman is in now in its third month.
The Peruvian woman has been identified as Leydi Figueroa Uceda. The impregnation according to media happened on an unsupervised visit the pair had together with the woman admitting herself that the two had conceived a son together. The felon said he didn't have DNA proof that the child is his but he believes it to be.
Joran Van der Sloot is in custody in Peru for the robbery and murder of Stephany Flores in 2010 in a Lima hotel after the pair had met in a casino. After the murder, the Dutchman fled to Chile where he was deported back to Peru for sentencing.
"I believe in karma, I believe that very strongly. I believe that if you do things that you shouldn't do, that a lot of shit happens to you. He didn't want to listen to his parents. He didn't listen to me, this last time. I tried to do my best. I don't think I could have done more. He's considered an adult right now. He has to do whatever he needs to do, and that is tell the truth about what happened," said mother Anita van der Sloot-Hugen in a Dutch television interview.
The former resident of Aruba is wanted by United States authorities for the missing person's case of Natalee Holloway in 2005, van der Sloot is said to be the last person to see Holloway alive.
